Every winter in Northern Kentucky we get at least one week of very cold weather, which freezes our pond so we can ice skate and play broomball.  And this winter was no exception, as we’ve been in a deep freeze since before New Years Eve.

The water vapor exhaust from our central heat dripped to create this 8” tall stalagmite ice, which I like to call “stalagmice.”  It’s hard to see in the photo, but there are two little ice bumps at the base of this stalagmice, creating a rather *ahem* interesting ice sculpture.

We got another 3” snow on top of our 2” base. 

Darby runs through a puffy snow that stuck to everything and transformed the world into a winter wonderland.
