One of my father’s favorite Christmas activities was to make rosettes, a traditional Scandinavian fried cookie. We celebrated Dad’s birthday by making dozens of rosettes with a 130-year-old rosette iron that originally belonged to Grandma Semke’s mother.
After seasoning the iron, Lisa watches Heather and Ryan make our first pair of rosettes.

We had a fun party on July 3rd. There was a yummy cookout, good fireworks, and great friends.

For what seems like the 20th year in a row, David won our Best Pumpkin contest with his FREEHAND (!) carving of a zebra (above). David is the "Tiger Woods of pumpkin carving" at our annual Halloween party.
