Dozens of turkey vultures congregated in the trees along the country road near our house to feast on a roadkill deer.

The wingspan of these birds is quite impressive — perhaps 4-5 feet wide.

Pretty fair-weather clouds puffed up behind the vultures.

Oh dear.

First come the flies, then come the maggots.
The vultures are awesome to watch. The hung around the orchard in fall and spring because we had an abundance of bunnies, deer, racoons, etc..just waiting to be their dinner.
