Lisa, Steven and Amanda road-tripped from Michigan to Kentucky to visit Theresa and me this weekend. It was so much fun to see them!
We went hiking in the Adair Wildlife Management Area. We drove to Big Bone Church, parked in the adjacent Adair lot and started our hike.
It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday. The fall colors were just starting to emerge.

Always remember to stop and notice the little things.
There is an old barn along the way that’s still in pretty good shape. Steven is fearless in his explorations.
This is the approved method of getting stoned in the forest.
Sister and brother
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir
We found a clearing that looked like it had been burned.
Lisa and Amanda are getting “tired.” OK, not punny.
Sister and brother, act 2
Trapped in a root cellar and can’t get out!
Steven emerges from the root cellar unscathed. “No dead bodies in here.”

We ran into our friend Barbara who owns this beautiful land. If only we had connected at the start of our trip! Maybe next time.

Still looking peppy after a long hike!
Lisa is crossing Gum Branch, which is running a little higher due to the recent rains. We only got a little wet (well, most of us).

What’s cool about this hike is it ends right at our home. Here Lisa is taking a well-deserved break after the 4-mile hike with a tough 14-story climb at the end. What an enjoyable afternoon with terrific company!
Wonderful weekend! Thanks and love you!
Nice pictures! Had a lot of fun, would definitely like to see little wolf sometime!
