Mike & Jeanne Hike Big Bone Gardens

My uncle Mike and aunt Jeanne hiked with us at our neighbor’s beautiful Big Bone Gardens.

Jeanne and Mike

Mike and Jeanne are standing by a cute lily pond.  Mike was nice to give Theresa his walking stick, which was hand-carved by a friend.  You can check out Mike’s new hiking blog at Big-Canoe-Hiker.com.

I join the photo, and naturally Shadow is our shadow.

Lily pond

This is the larger lily pond.  It was blooming when we visited.  Quite a sight!

The pond lily flowers are pretty and immense.  Many are as big as a basketball.

The tall exotic grasses almost swallow alive Theresa, Mike and Jeanne.

Cabin

The cabin at Big Bone Gardens was originally built in the 1840s and reconstructed here.

A grassy road leads us home.
