It used to be that we wouldn’t see ticks on our dogs until May. Now they are starting to appear in early March. Global warming!

Here is a gross fat tick we pulled off our dog Darby:

If you live out in the country like we do, you will find literally hundreds of ticks on your dogs during the course of the summer. So finding a tick on a dog is not cause for alarm. However, if you notice your dog acting sluggish, has a loss of appetite or a fever, then take your dog to the vet, and tell the vet that your dog had been bitten by a tick. Dogs can get Lyme disease.
