Nearly every year we cut down all the thistle plants growing in our wildflower field. It takes only about 10 minutes if you keep up with it every year, otherwise it can take hours. Thistle is very invasive and will blanket a field in just a few years. Thistle has pretty pink marshmallow-sized flowers that the bees and butterfly love, but it also has very sharp thorns and can grow up to 10 feet tall.
Theresa likes to make a bouquet with the thistle flowers we cut. She added some Queen Anne’s Lace and Goldenrod to make a nice arrangement.
